Mini Cooper Over Spray Removal
A customer brought this mini to me to detail it for resale. On the hood was over spray from a contractor that was spraying a cement sealer on the driveway. The sealant was on the hood, and bumper. Since this car was for resale the Client elected to not have a full paint correction but instead chose the Standard detail with over spray removal and engine detail.

The engine was not too dirty so this step was quite easy. I used a mild degreaser and brush to break up the dirt and grease. I followed with the application of 303 Aerospace Protectant to give it that new look

I started with the basic wash to see if any of the sealant would come off in the wash. Of course it did not. I moved on to a mild blue clay by Clay Magic. While this did some removal it was very minimal and took a long time. I chose to move to a more aggressive red clay, again by Clay Magic. This did the trick and removed all the sealant. A side effect of using a more aggressive clay is hazing and a cloudy look to the paint. An extra step had to be used to remove this. I elected to use my Flex dual action machine with a medium pad and medium polish. This removed all of the hazing. I than proceeded to the next step with the Flex D/A a black finishing pad and Autoglym Raident wax. This left a brilliant shine and gave the paint some protection.

The interior was neglected and needed some work. Mild soap was used to clean the seats followed with Zymol leather conditioner. The carpet was cleaned with a hot extraction system. All interior/exterior plastic wash conditioned with 303 Aerospace protectant.

Mercedes S65 paint correction
Our customer came to us asking if we could remove the clear bra from his 2007 S65. The clear bra was on a good portion of the front end and the side mirrors. Upon further inspection and after our customer interview we had determined that the car was washed by the owner with less than proper methods. There was deep scratching and swirl marks all over the vehicle. We decided to proceed with a 4-step paint correction (not including the clay treatment). Removal of the clear bra took 2 hours and was very tedious. After removal of the clear bra we used Autogylm solvent to remove any left over glue. We than washed the car and clayed the surface. I noticed a line going across the hood which was left by the clear bra. I kept it in the back of mind as I proceeded with the first step of the correction. My first step was meguiars #85 and a heavy foam pad. It seems like this did not even touch the scratches. I moved up to a more aggressive wool pad, to no avail. I bumped up to meguiars #105 and a wool pad at 1400 rpms. It still took 2 passes to remove the damage enough for the next step. I did however notice the the line across the hood was still there. I had to sand the line out of the paint. I now know that the clear bra does leave some ill affects and is not as perfect as they say. I than proceeded with the removal of the buffer marks left by the 105. For this step I used Boehm Correct-it with a medium yellow foam pad. This did a great job of removing the buffer marks and left a great flawless finish. To improve on the shine I applied a polish/glaze again by Boehm at 2200 rpm. This made the paint jump out at you and gave it that wet look. I finished the job with Autoglym High Definition. The paint was perfect after the completion. In the pictures below you will notice the difference. This process took 20 hours.
